The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.

Avenue Des Champs Élysées

Champs-Elysees

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is an avenue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) long and 70 metres (230 ft) wide, running between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located. It is known for its theatres, cafés, and luxury shops, for the annual Bastille Day military parade, and as the finish of the Tour de France cycle race. The name is French for the Elysian Fields, the paradise for dead heroes in Greek mythology. It is one of the most famous streets in the world.

Place De La Concorde

Place de la Concorde

The largest square in Paris is the Place de la Concorde. On it sit many major Parisian tourist spots, such as Champs-Élysées, the Luxor Obelisk, the Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume and the Musée de l’Orangerie.

The Palace of Versailles, Château de Versailles, or simply Versailles, is a royal château in Versailles in the Île-de-France region of France. It is now open as a museum and a very popular tourist attraction. Louis IV’s opulent mansion is one of the most famous symbols of French political history and power. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was the center of French politics for nearly a century, until the beginning of the French Revolution.

**On Dec 25, Dec 26, Jan 1 and Jan 2, the Palace of Versailles will be closed, so you can only take photos outside.

Of course, the ultimate Venice activity is to ride through the warren of waterways on a gondola ride, and for most people, this optional excursion is a must. Ponte Dei Sospiri

Bridge of Sighs

This gorgeous white-limestone bridge in Venice gets its name from an almost ironically bleak place: In the 1800s, the windows looking out from the enclosed bridge’s interior were the last views of sublime that Venice convicts would see before their imprisonment.

After lunch, take a step even further back in time as you visit Italy’s unrivaled Roman relics. An optional guided tour of the Colosseum is highly recommended.

After the Colosseum, we will get up close to the nearby Arch of Constantine, and then spend some further free time enjoying Rome.

It could hold, it is estimated, between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators, having an average audience of some 65,000; it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology.

The arch spans the Via triumphalis, the way taken by the emperors when they entered the city in triumph.

The Ponte Vecchio’s two neighbouring bridges are the Ponte Santa Trinita and the Ponte alle Grazie.

Leaning Tower

The Leaning Tower of Pisa

The world-famous tower built during the Middle Ages is a testament to both human ingenuity and fallibility. The tower tilted because the soil on one side was softer than on the other, and it could not support the tower’s weight.
