(Starting at 09:30 and arriving at 13:30, about 4 hours tour, daily departures from May to Oct)

A few miles from Mykonos, the departure from the old port of Mykonos takes only 40 minutes to reach the “unmanned island” – Delos. It is one of the most important ancient sites in Greece. According to ancient Greek legends, Delos is the birthplace of the twin sun god Apollo and the hunting goddess Artemis. The island of Delos is one of the most intense in the history of archaeology in the world.

In ancient times, it was the main pilgrimage site and became an important hub of political economy over time. Many temples and houses have been built, and the Delian Games once in every five years have been held here. The splendid treasure of the Tilos Alliance was once in the Temple of Apollo and had the largest slave trading market at the time. Archaeological excavations began in 1873 and it took 140 years to present the spectacular sights we have seen today.

After thousands of turbulent baptisms, the island was completely calm in modern times. In order to protect large areas of ancient sites, the Greek government stipulates that residents are no longer allowed to live on the island. There are many artifacts unearthed from the museum on the island.
